Set at the foot of the Gastein mountains and making use of the gentle topography is the Gastein Golf Club which enjoys its fine reputation as one of the older courses in Austria.
Founded in 1960, the club has a par 71, 6100 yard course which is a treat to play. From the moment you face what seems to be the relatively simple first hole (par 3, 165 yards) the holes wind their way through mature trees, gentle mountain streams and well manicured fairways. With 6 par threes and 5 par fives to negotiate, the course is a challenge to any standard of golfer and coupled with the warm reception awaiting the visitor in the clubhouse, there aren’t many finer places to be for relaxation and enjoyment.
