The province of Carinthia is in the southern tip of the country, and is often referred to as the Austrian Riviera, with its warm southern alpine climate. The scenery here is flatter than the better known Tirol but with its beautiful lakes such as Lake Wörthersee, it is no less stunning. There are numerous golf courses within striking distance, including a couple in neighbouring Slovenia and Italy.
